The Bezos Earth Fund, backed by Jeff Bezos and led by his fiancée Lauren Sanchez, has committed $60 million to establish the Bezos Centers for Sustainable Protein.
These centers aim to innovate in biomanufacturing to combat climate change, improving alternative proteins by reducing costs, enhancing quality, and increasing nutritional benefits.
They'll collaborate with universities and are part of a larger $1 billion initiative to transform food and agriculture systems, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
This investment follows another Bezos-backed venture into plant-based foods with Oscar Mayer.
